亀をイメージした香合で、肉厚の煤竹を使用している。表面は亀甲模様を彫刻した部分に金粉を、また内側は黒漆に金箔を施している。日本では鶴と共に長寿の動物として縁起の良いもの、めでたい物とされているため、お祝いの席などに使用すると良い。
