胡麻竹の煤竹を瓢に形取った香合で、表面には黒色の斑点模様がある。肉厚の竹を使用していることから、黒竹ではなく真竹の棹に菌が寄生して胡麻斑を生じたものと思われる。表面の斑点模様を景色とし、瓢の胴部分には結び目を彫刻し金粉が、また内側は黒漆に金箔が施されている。
