煤竹特有の色による濃淡が表面に現れているやや小振りの作品である。
福禄寿とは七福神の一、短身、長頭で、髭が多く、経巻を結びつけた杖を携え、多くは鶴を従えているらしい。竹の曲がり具合や色の感じから、その雰囲気が伝わってくる。
